We publish what we observe.

Client work is confidential. The patterns across it are not. This library reports what we keep finding in owner-led companies — with the sample, the window, and the method stated on every paper, and the limits stated with them.

The standard we hold

What this research claims, and what it doesn’t.

We report what we observe in the companies we research — what is on their sites, where they appear in search, who ranks above them, what infrastructure exists and what does not. Those are countable facts, recorded at a stated time, with a stated sample.

We do not report what happens to a company’s revenue after it acts on our findings. Measuring that honestly requires years of tracked outcomes and a comparison group, and we do not have either. Any firm publishing such figures should be asked for its cohort, its window, and its attribution method.

Every paper below states its sample size, its observation window, its method, and its limits before it states a single finding. If a number here cannot be traced to those, it should not be here.

Tier One

Structural Research

Why owner-led companies lose ground for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of what they sell.

Paper 01 · Published

The Positioning Gap

2,400 words · 12 min · n=112

The more visible competitor is rarely the better company. We measured capability and findability separately, in different passes, across 112 owner-led companies — and found them diverging in 97 cases.

Paper 02 · In preparation

The Referral Ceiling

n=112

Referral-dependent companies plateau at a level set by the owner’s active network rather than by the market. What the ceiling looks like from inside, why it is mistaken for market size, and what distinguishes the companies that cross it.

Paper 03 · In preparation

The Capture Gap

n=112

What happens to a qualified visitor who is not ready to call today. We inventoried every observable capture mechanism across the companies we researched. The absence rate is the most consistent finding in our data.

Paper 04 · In preparation

The Owner’s Dilemma

Structural analysis

Why the standard response to a growth plateau — hire a salesperson, add a tool, run a campaign — addresses a capacity constraint when the actual constraint is structural, and what distinguishes the two from the inside.

Tier Two

Field Observations

Shorter findings drawn directly from the research record. Counted, dated, and bounded.

Observation · In preparation

Proof that nobody can find

Quantified client outcomes are among the most common assets in our sample — and among the least distributed. Where they live, why they stay there, and what that placement forfeits.

Observation · In preparation

The queries owners think buyers run

We ask owners to predict their five highest-intent acquisition queries before we run them. The divergence between predicted and actual is itself a finding.

Observation · In preparation

Pricing visibility and the qualification cost

What happens to a sales cycle when a category publishes no prices, and what the companies that break ranks appear to gain.

Observation · In preparation

Local specialists against national brands

Regional companies with genuine geographic advantage, measured against national firms with no local presence, in local search results.

Observation · In preparation

The single-channel concentration risk

How many of the companies we research depend on one acquisition channel, and what the exposure looks like when that channel is someone else’s platform.

Observation · In preparation

Review infrastructure in B2B categories

Third-party review presence among owner-led B2B companies, their competitors, and what the asymmetry costs at the consideration stage.

New research published monthly. Every paper states its sample, window, and method.

How this research is produced

The data is the research record.

Every paper draws on the same record our client reports draw on: the companies we have examined directly. For each one we record the observable state of its digital estate, the queries its buyers run and who appears for them, the competitors identified and their content infrastructure, and the presence or absence of each element of pipeline infrastructure.

Findings are structural. They appear consistently regardless of which specific company is examined, which is what makes them worth publishing.

All data is anonymized. No client is identifiable in any published paper, and named use of any finding requires written permission in advance.

What every paper must state
Sample
How many companies, of what size, in which sectors.
Window
The dates across which observations were recorded.
Method
Exactly what was recorded, in what order, and how it was scored.
Limits
What the data cannot support, and which alternatives were not ruled out.

The research describes the pattern. The report finds it in your business.

Every finding in this library is observable in most owner-led companies. The Revenue Intelligence Report identifies which ones apply to yours, and what each is costing.
